Our first Valentine’s Day together, Matt gave me a japor snippet. A hand carved wooden replica of the necklace Anakin Skywalker gave Padme’ Amidala. Even in those early days together, he knew me so well – of course I loved it. 

A few years later, Matt proposed at the filming location where Anakin and Padme’ were married. A year after that, I wore the japor snippet tucked inside the bodice of my wedding dress, close to my heart. 

This japor snippet is the perfect symbol of our relationship – finding special and Star Wars related ways to express our love and affection for each other. It is a part of our love story, going all the way back to the beginning. 

Every Valentine’s Day, I think about my japor snippet. I remember how stunned and excited I was when he gave it to me – it had so much more love and meaning to me than anything bought from a store. A simple handmade gift, it remains one of my most sentimental possessions, irreplaceable and priceless.
